Global Voices·Local Stories

Global Gay Radio wants to be just what it says it is — we want to broadcast queer voices from across the global gay community. We want this radio station to represent all of our LGBTQ community — whichever letter you identify with, listed here or not — we are here to connect with you, share your voice, and represent you on the global stage. We aim to provide plenty of original content created by us, but we could use your help to fill a 24/7 broadcast schedule. We'd love to share your voice, your work, your perspective, your contribution, your personal world within the worldwide LGBTQ population.

We showcase queer voices and stories. We want to be explicit here — we hope to provide representation for everyone: lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans people, queer people, gender or sexuality non-conforming people, and the version of your queerness — without you needing to explain yourself, just present yourself and your work. If you create audio content — a podcast, an interview series, a single conversation worth hearing, a discussion on a subject you care about, a field recording from somewhere queer life is happening — we want to know about it. Local LGBTQ voices. Local LGBTQ stories. Global LGBTQ representation.

Send us a brief description of your work and what you'd like to share with the world to voices@globalgayradio.com. Include a short sample, compressed if heavy, if you would like us to hear it now. Alternately, you can connect via the GGR website below and we will reply to the email you give us.

— Share Your Voice With Us —

In a short paragraph, tell us who you are, where you are, and what you've made — or are making — that you'd like to share with the world through Global Gay Radio. Leave us a name to call you and an email to reach you, and we'll be in touch.

We are in this together, and together we are stronger. Broadcasting queer voices to the world, we are excited to serve and celebrate — and when you want it, give you a stage to shine.

— A Note On Safety —

We'll Follow Your Lead

For many queer people in the world, being heard publicly carries real risk. We know that. If you're submitting from somewhere where being out is dangerous or must stay hidden and private — we want to make this easier, not harder.

A few practical things:

Use an anonymous email to reach us. Proton Mail offers free encrypted email and works in most parts of the world. You don't need to give your real name or location for us to take your work seriously.

If your country restricts internet access or blocks privacy services, a VPN can help. Proton VPN has a free tier built specifically for journalists and people in restricted regions, with a "stealth" mode that hides VPN use itself. Always check first with people who know your locality for best VPN practices.

For guidance from organizations that focus on digital and physical safety, with informed sensitivity to LGBTQ needs, including in hostile regions and areas, we recommend starting with these resources:

— Our Promise To You —

We are a radio station, not a security firm. We cannot make sweeping promises regarding your safety and security. We will take your safety seriously — we will operate in good faith and with due diligence. We will never publish anything you haven't approved. We will follow your lead on whether to credit you, anonymize you, or change identifying details. We won't out you. We won't push. If you tell us something needs to stay off the air, it stays off the air.
